The Central Bank of Kenya's actions will affect people and organizations across Kenya. As a result, it is very important that our decisions take account of the views of those who have an interest in the outcome.

Consultation plays an important part in achieving this. It allows those who could be affected by or concerned about a particular issue to give us their views before we decide on a course of action. Consultation is an essential part of regulatory accountability – the means by which those people and organizations affected by our decisions can judge what we do and why we do it.
