On October 28, 2016, over 160 Kenyan athletes converged at the Boma Inn Hotel in Eldoret to attend a Financial Health and Security Program organized by the CBK in the context of the 50th anniversary celebrations. The program seeks to boost financial literacy among the athletes to enable them make informed financial decisions and evaluate different investment opportunities. At the launch of the Program, the Governor praised the athletes for their discipline and resilience and being brand ambassadors for Kenya. Several champions attended the event including Eliud Kipchoge, Julius Yego, Vivian Cheruiyot, Asbel Kiprop, Lornah Kiplagat, Ezekiel Kemboi among others.
