
Celebrating 60 Years of Central Banking
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee (CBK@60) on September 14, 2026. To mark this special milestone, CBK is hosting a series of high-level meetings and events during the week of September 13 to 18, 2026.
AACB Annual Meetings
The 2026 Annual Meetings of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB) will be hosted by the Central Bank of Kenya from September 13 – 18, 2026, at the Central Bank of Kenya Institute of Monetary Studies (CBK-IMS) in Nairobi, Kenya. This will include an AACB Symposium of Governors on September 17, 2026. The annual meetings will be held alongside the CBK@60 celebrations, and the AI Conference. Click here for more information.

AI Conference
The Central Bank of Kenya will host the Artificial Intelligence Conference themed “Trusted Artificial Intelligence in Central Banking Practice,” on September 16, 2026. The conference brings together policymakers, representatives of central banks, commercial banks, financial-sector regulators, researchers and global AI experts to deepen the financial sector’s collective understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by Artificial Intelligence. Particular attention will be given to the responsible application of AI in monetary policy, financial stability, financial integrity, regulation and supervision, and data analytics.

Gala Dinner
Beyond the policy discussions, the week will feature commemorative events honoring the Bank’s six-decade journey in fostering Kenya’s economic growth. A Gala Dinner will be held on September 17, 2026.

CBK@60: Rooted in Legacy Tree Growing at Karura Forest
CBK launched the CBK@60 Green Spaces tree-growing initiative at Karura Forest, Nairobi, as part of its 60th Anniversary celebrations. The initiative promotes environmental conservation, staff wellness and teamwork while supporting Kenya’s national tree-growing campaign.

CBK sponsored 13 competition classes, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting creativity, music, and the arts across the country.
